"Patricia L. is one of my latest works. It is my mothers high school graduation picture that I have manipulated into a work that I am very proud of. "Patricia L." is very personal on many levels, as my parents get older so do I and the risk of losing them increases.
BIO:
My life started out on a different path. I was to attend college and be a Home Economics Teacher. Well with a couple of years of college at Indiana University and no money on the horizon I worked a pretty boring job taking a class here and there and also doing Theater design and stage production in my free time; which I found fascinating, but at that time in history I didn't really see where that might take me. Now move the clock forward thirty years. After a huge life changing injury I started
sewing again as a source of inner therapy I embarked into the world of
quilts. How it evolved into art quilts came by way
of a new home. I had huge walls that needed to be filled so I created contemporary quilts, which really seemed to fill a
space in my being. Now after much exploration in the world of
fiber art, I find myself creating abstract art pieces and taking my work to a professional level and finally finding myself back where I started years ago.
I now feel the need to catch up, I have been exhibiting locally and internationally. The dreams of several installation projects will happen I know, if I just keep fiber on the walls and taking one step at a time.
